Radiesse Miami

RADIESSE® is an FDA-approved injectable dermal filler that is used for smoothing moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the creases that extend from the corners of your nose to the corners of your mouth). RADIESSE® is also FDA-approved for correcting volume loss in the back of the hands.

RADIESSE® provides an instant lift by restoring lost volume in areas of the lower face. RADIESSE® also continues to work with your body, stimulating the natural production of collagen for a more refreshed appearance that can last up to a year or more in many patients.
This product is ideal for treating areas of the face such as:

  • Smile lines (aka Nasolabial folds)
  • Marionette lines (extending down from the corners of the mouth)
  • Pre-jowl folds (this area can look hollow as volume loss causes the skin to sag along your jawline and create folds)
  • Corners of the mouth (hollowing in this area can make you look tired, sad, or angry)
  • Chin wrinkles (lines across your chin can distract from your smile and make you look older)

With RADIESSE®, an anesthetic medicine such as lidocaine can be mixed into the product for additional comfort when this product is injected.

RADIESSE® (+) is another version of the same product that already comes pre-mixed with lidocaine.

RADIESSE® is typically injected deeper into the skin than other dermal filler products through a simple, and minimally-invasive procedure. RADIESSE® is an ideal choice for deeper lines, folds, and wrinkles, or for total facial contouring. Upon injection, it immediately adds volume to safely contour, correct, and enhance facial features. RADIESSE® dermal filler actually helps your body to create its own, naturally-younger look, setting a new standard in facial contouring and augmentation. This product can help restore a healthy, youthful appearance, enhance your existing features, help you defy age and gravity, and increase your confidence – all without invasive surgery or scarring. RADIESSE® dermal filler has been clinically tested extensively for years, with excellent safety and efficacy results.

RADIESSE® is the only dermal filler that is FDA-approved as safe and effective to correct lost volume in hands. This product will immediately restore volume loss in the back of hands for smooth, natural-looking results. The treatment will help to minimize the visibility of veins and tendons in the back of your hands, and will create a much more youthful appearance.

After treatment, you will see the results right away, and these results have been shown to last up to a year or more, depending on the specific area that is treated, and the individual patient. RADIESSE® was first approved in the United States to correct and/or restore the signs of facial fat loss, and for subdermal injection to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as nasolabial folds) in 2006. It was approved for subdermal injection to correct volume loss in the back of the hands in June 2015.

RADIESSE® dermal filler is made from a biocompatible substance that is identical to what is naturally found in the body. The product is an injectable implant that is composed of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. Injection of this product under the skin produces an immediate and visible correction to wrinkles. There is no skin sensitivity testing required. Over time, the gel portion is absorbed, and your body’s fibroblasts will appear in the treated area. This begins the process of neocollagenesis, stimulating the gradual growth of your own collagen. This results in an extended correction of the treated area, and leads to increased patient satisfaction. Clinical results have been shown to last a year or more in many patients. The cosmetic results from treatment are immediate, although this product does have an affinity for water molecules, and may exhibit some additional temporary swelling immediately after injection as compared to some other injectable facial fillers. After treatment, the correction is long-lasting, but not permanent. Over time, the CaHA microspheres naturally degrade to calcium and phosphate ions, which are metabolized by the body’s normal processes.

RADIESSE® has a unique ability to replenish lost volume and to provide lift. It has been demonstrated to have a higher viscosity as compared to other dermal fillers. This property allows the product to remain in the same place after injection, and to have a higher resistance to spreading into the surrounding tissue areas as compared to other products. RADIESSE® also has more elasticity (G’) as compared to other dermal fillers. This property allows the product to have superior tissue lifting capacity, as well as the ability to provide excellent tissue support.

Generally, the side effects of this product are mild and short-lived. The most common side effects after injection include temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, and bruising, although there are other, more serious side effects that have been reported in rare cases. The degree of redness, tenderness, swelling, and bruising after injection of this product can vary greatly depending on the specific location of injection, the technique and experience of the injector, and individual patient factors. The results from the injection of this product can be seen almost immediately, although some degree of initial swelling is expected, and typically the results will settle in over the first 1-2 weeks after the treatment is performed.
