Pride In Our Exception Patient Care
Dr. Gregory Lewen and his staff take great pride in providing concierge customer service and exceptional patient care. We strive to make our patients feel most comfortable in our office, and we encourage you to ask questions and to share as much information as possible regarding your cosmetic goals. Dr. Lewen encourages his patients to work with our office and staff in order to approach the surgical process with a team approach. Our goal is to assist and guide you through the course of your cosmetic surgery or procedure so that the experience is as easy and pleasant as possible. When deciding to have cosmetic surgery or cosmetic procedures performed, you are making a significant investment of your time, energy, and financial resources. We greatly value your investment, and we understand that the time leading up to your procedure, and immediately afterwards, can sometimes be very emotional. As a team, we are here to work together in order to support you every step of the way.
One of the most important things to remember when having surgery or cosmetic procedures performed is that your body must have the appropriate amount of time to heal. Every individual person heals differently, and it is very difficult to precisely compare the healing experience of any two people. At times, it can be very natural to be somewhat impatient for your final results to settle. Although we all want to get back to normal as soon as possible, please remember to give your body the patience, time, and special care that it deserves during your healing period. It is also very common for the two sides of the face/body to heal at somewhat different rates. You may experience more bruising and/or swelling in some areas as compared to others, and this is completely normal.
The Healing Process
It is very common to feel somewhat emotional in the days and weeks following your procedure. You must remember that Dr. Lewen and his trained office staff experience the healing process with various patients every day. With this in mind, it is important to trust us when we give you instructions and guidance. Every individual person heals somewhat differently, and there are many factors that can contribute to your personal healing experience, which can include considerations such as: age, diet, general medical and/or eye health, other medical conditions, medications, physical activity, genetics, environmental factors, sleep behaviors and patterns, fluid status, allergy or hypersensitivity reactions, and your ability to follow the specific instructions that Dr. Lewen has provided you, among many other things. We know how important it is to have the support of your friends and family through your healing process. However, it is very important to remember that while friends and family may have your best interests in mind, often times they do not have all of the correct information or specific experience to appropriately guide you through your healing and post-operative journey. Sometimes, while trying to help you, they can inadvertently create some additional anxiety.
Please remember that when we give you advice, it is specifically based on your individual situation, and Dr. Lewen’s knowledge and experience in his unique sub-specialty field. Please try your hardest not to allow yourself to judge any of your cosmetic outcomes before you see Dr. Lewen at your first follow-up appointment. Dr. Lewen has the commitment of an open door policy to his patients. If you are ever anxious or in doubt, you are encouraged to contact our office and we will be more than happy to assist you, or to help you better understand any aspect of your healing process. We are committed to providing you with our best service to ensure that your cosmetic surgery journey is not only a success, but that you receive all of the emotional support that you need! If you feel that you may need to come in before your next scheduled appointment time, please let us know about your concerns. We are here for you!
