My girlfriend recently got Botox on her forehead but she also had her lips plumped. It took away the lines around her mouth similar to her forehead? Are both areas done with Botox?
Thank you! J.W.
Hi J.W.,
You are correct; your girlfriend did get a Botox treatment on her forehead to address the lines. However, she did not get Botox to add volume to her lips or to treat the lines around her mouth. Although I did not treat your girlfriend, in my practice I use facial fillers for adding volume to the lip area and nasolabial lines (lines around the mouth). Facial fillers that work best for that area of the face are typically composed of a substance called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance that we normally have in our bodies. Facial Fillers are a great way to improve the contours of your face and restore your youthful appearance without surgery and with little to no downtime; the so-called “liquid facelift.”
In my practice I use the following fillers: Juvedern Ultra, Juvedern Ultra Plus, Restylane, Radiesse, Belotero Balance, and Perlane. Different types of fillers are used for different applications and during a patient’s consultation; we will identify which treatment is best suited for your particular aesthetic goals.
